The pair of young travelers arrived at the gate, and I asked if they spoke English, given their South American origin. The more assertive one confirmed their English proficiency but expressed their preference for a Spanish-speaking tour since that’s what they had paid for. Later, they joined the Mexican ladies who reside in the USA, and although they didn’t interact extensively with the English-speaking group, everyone relished their own conversations.
